Model Steam Engines

Capture the nostalgia of the Industrial Revolution with our authentic Model Steam Engines. These kits are a tribute to the age of steam, featuring functional copper boilers, brass flywheels, and intricate piping. Whether you are building a historical diorama or retrofitting a model boat, our live steam engines offer a rewarding DIY experience and the authentic smell of oil and steam.

Classification & Types

Our collection is divided by application and valve mechanism:

  • Stationary Engines: Vertical or horizontal layouts designed to power miniature workshops or generate electricity.
  • Marine Engines: Compact designs specifically built to drive propellers in model boats.
  • Valve Systems: Ranging from simple Oscillating (Wobbler) engines for beginners to complex Slide Valve engines for advanced mechanics.

How it Works

Water is heated in a boiler to create high-pressure steam. This steam is directed into a cylinder via a valve, where it expands and pushes a piston. The linear movement of the piston is then converted into rotational motion by a connecting rod and crankshaft, powering the flywheel.
